1. Scope
This policy describes the Gemini Exporter browser extension. The published Chrome Web Store extension currently supports Google Gemini; experimental ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok adapters in source builds do not imply that these integrations are publicly released. This policy does not describe our separate website, which has its own privacy policy.
2. Extension: local data processing
The extension reads conversations and available attachments from services you have already signed in to, when you authorize access or request an export. It processes and exports this content on your device as Markdown, HTML, PDF, or JSON; multi-file downloads may be packaged as ZIP files. PDF compilation and ZIP creation run locally.
We do not receive or collect your conversations, attachments, passwords, account credentials, session tokens, or export files. The extension does not send them to a server operated by us, and it contains no developer-operated analytics, advertising trackers, or telemetry. Requests to retrieve your conversations or attachments are made directly to the relevant source service using your existing browser session.
The extension stores settings, scan information, conversation metadata, and export records locally in browser extension storage. Files that you download or save to a folder remain on your device; you control their retention and deletion.
3. Extension permissions
- Storage and unlimitedStorage: local preferences, conversation index information, scan state, and export records.
- Scripting: activates scripts for supported source sites only when their access is granted.
- Optional site access: conversation and attachment domains for Gemini, or experimental ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok adapters when supported and explicitly authorized. No source platform needs mandatory host access at installation.
- Local Font Access: when requested, reads the names or metadata of installed fonts to select fonts for PDF rendering. Font files and conversation content are not uploaded.
Connecting one platform does not authorize another. We do not store platform passwords or session tokens in the extension's conversation database.
4. Source services and local libraries
To perform an export, the extension communicates directly with the authorized source platform, such as Google Gemini. Your activity with that platform is also subject to the platform's own privacy practices. The extension includes locally executed open-source libraries such as JSZip and Typst WebAssembly, and a bundled math font; these components do not require a developer-operated service to render or package your files.
5. Sharing, retention, and control
We do not sell your data, use extension data for advertising, or transfer extension data for unrelated purposes, credit decisions, or lending. Extension settings, conversation metadata and export records are stored locally; you can clear local scan and export records using extension controls, and you control any exported files.
We do not maintain a developer-hosted database of your conversations or require a developer account to use this extension. Your interactions with third-party source platforms remain subject to those services' privacy policies.
6. Open source, contact, and changes
The extension's source code and more detailed extension privacy documentation are public. For questions, requests, or corrections, contact us through GitHub Issues. Please do not post private conversations or credentials in a public issue.
We may update this policy when features or data practices change. The date at the top indicates the latest published revision.
